We’re going on a winter adventure with Michelle Lutke and Brett Biggers to the Trout Creek area to view a frozen Agate Falls. If you’ve never been there before, it’s located along the middle branch of the Ontonagon River. Michelle and Brett made the hike to the bottom of the Falls last week and found the beauty of the frozen falls up close. She said most of the views of this waterfall in the winter, come from snowmobilers crossing the bridge above it. That’s because the trail can be sketchy in the winter months, so not many folks dare to venture down to the bottom. Michelle said they have made the winter hike a number of times and this one was probably the sketchiest. She hopes you’ll all enjoy these amazing views from her camera lens!
Michelle recorded a video, too, so we can feel like we’re standing right down there with them. It’s neat to see the falls frozen like this, yet be able to hear the water running underneath the ice. It’s not something you’ll see all the time, but the frigid temperatures for days in a row, froze it over. I love the bridge at Agate Falls. I've only seen it in the summer though. Good for you for getting out there at this time of year. I'll settle for seeing the pictures.

That trail down to the river is scary in the summer. I have done it, with trekking poles! I would love to try in the winter with my ice spikes and, trekking poles! Beautiful photos!
