Marquette locals like to call this Orehenge, when the sunrise can be viewed in the center opening of one of Marquette’s most iconic landmarks, the historic lower harbor ore dock, which was originally known as Wisconsin Central Ore Dock #6. These shots come to us from Bob Fleury who captured it as the sun made it’s way to light up the inside of the Ore Dock. This happens every November and January and Bob says it’s always nice to see it in the Fall and then again when the snow is covering the ground. Spectacular shots for sure! You can check out more of Bob’s photography here: Bob Fleury’s Facebook page

We’re heading to St. Ignace for a late fall adventure with Nick & Marklyn, from MI Playground. The lead-in to the video says: “We are in St. Ignace for a fall adventure along the northern shores of Lake Huron. It all starts at Straits State Park which offers awesome views of the Mackinac Bridge. The drive east along the shoreline of Lake Huron includes stops at multiple hiking trails and spots to eat.”

Hi
I like "Orehenge". Sometime I'll have to see the
ore dock in person.

In the video they visited the Straits State Park
near St. Ignace. Although we have our cabin, my
family & I did camp at both Wilderness State Park
near Mackinaw City and Straits State Park. If you
want to camp and have easy access to either
Mackinaw City or St. Ignace---or if you were
stopping for the night before going on to other
destinations--I'd recommend Straits State Park. If
you want to be more remote, Wilderness State Park
is good.

Spectacular. Some day I'll see that, maybe.

That is so awesome!

Always a treat to see
these pix!
And the video was great
too. Marklyn and Nick
are fortunate to be able
to hike these trails and
fortunate to have each
other. May the Lord
Bless their union together.

My husband and I finally got to see Orehenge on Wednesday! It
was so cool. Bob’s photos are so much better than mine.
Hopefully the skies are clear in January so we can see it again with
snow!
