Barbara Bouwkamp doesn’t let a little rain keep her indoors. She recently took a walkabout in the rain and since she already had wet feet, she went back to get her camera because the leaves were just so pretty floating in the puddles. Barbara thinks she is officially bonkers, but if she is, I’m right there with her, because I would have been alongside her walking in the rain, checking out the leaves in the puddles. They look so shiny and beautiful with the water making the colors much more vivid.

Visit Keweenaw shares another Crossing Place video with us, titled, Living History, Haunted Tales: Quincy Mine Haunted Tours, with Kent Cyr, Technical Director, MTU Visual & Performing Arts and Tom Wright, Executive Director, Quincy Mine Hoist Association. The lead-in to the video says: “Step into the shadows of history at Quincy Mine’s annual haunted experience. What began as a small end-of-season idea has grown into a full-scale immersive production, blending sound, lights, costumes, and storytelling across one of the Copper Country’s most iconic sites. Each year, the experience changes — sometimes unfolding in the depths of the Quincy Hoist, other times in the eerie expanse of the smelter. Wherever it’s staged, no two visits are alike. It’s not just about scares — it’s about laughter, community, and discovering a historic landmark in a whole new way. Come for the chills, stay for the memories, and see Quincy after dark.” For more information on the tours taking place October 23rd thru the 25th @ 7 – 10:30 p.m., click here: Haunted Smelter – Descent into Madness

Great photos! Especially with most of the leaves being maples, and
one oak leaf.

These are so cool. I just love trails
and roads, especially in the fall when
they're littered with falling leaves
and pine needles. So relaxing a sight.

Awesome pics! I like where the raindrops fell, too!

Cool vid...who's visited the mine at Halloween
time?

Hi
You guys get fall colors now AND rain? I'm envious.
We badly need rain down where I am.

I've been to Fort Fright, the Halloween event at
Fort Michilimackinac in Mackinaw City. Although
there's one high-scare haunted building (optional)
and some costumed actors, much of it is scary
stories told by candle-light or firelight. Plus hot
cider.
