What a difference a couple days makes. Judy Byykkonen is back at Bucky’s, also known as Calumet Waterworks Park, but unlike her photos on Tuesday this week, her pictures today are filled with sunshine instead of snowflakes and Judy declared this day on the shores of Lake Superior, to be “Heaven on Earth!” And looking at the ice that’s breaking up and floating around, you can see that it’s beginning to melt and resembling more of a slush, than a solid mass along the shoreline. Maybe Spring really is on its way. I know I’ve heard the sandhill cranes when I’m out walking and the geese have been honking overhead, too. All good signs for sure.
Another sign of Spring here in the Copper Country, is when you see bags and buckets hung from Maple trees to catch the sap for making into Maple Syrup. The Restless Viking tells us that tree sap is more important than you think and gives us a bit of history of Maple Syrup.

Great pics.
And I LOVE the Restless Viking vids....they add history to their stories, and are plain old awesomeness!

Yes, it's definitely nice to see all the blue and the ice chunks just floating around as the ice is breaking up. Wonderful pictures!!
