When it comes to Lake Supeior, Judy Byykkonen is just like the old saying for the mailman, “Neither snow nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these couriers (or Judy) from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”. And yes, I added the (or Judy) to the saying, because there is not much that will keep her from the shores of Lake Superior... and in today’s photos, Bucky’s – a.k.a.Calumet Waterworks Park. It’s one of her favorite places, even when it’s cold and snowing. Judy snapped these photos early last week when we were getting yet another Winter Weather Watch, with snowflakes in the air. No worries, though, the wind and snow won’t stop Judy from enjoying her appointed rounds with Lady Superior.

For a bit of a warmer looking day, we join Cody McClellan as he visits Bond Falls on the Ontonagon River and the O Kun De Kun Falls on the Baltimore River, along with a beautiful sunset from the Lake Superior shore. Fun explorations UP North.

It's really time for spring. Omgosh,
it's the winter that never ends. I'm
sure Judy will get the first pictures
of the open water at bucky's. Won't
that be exciting?

Hi
Deb, I'd dislike still having snow on the ground at
this time of year. I hope you guys do get stuff
melted soon.

I sometimes watch a kids' show on PBS called "Molly
of Denali", set in a fictional village in Alaska.
Their Spring Carnival included a snowshoe race and
the master of cermonies getting around in a dogsled.
But the water in their waterballoons used in a
waterballoon fight didn't freeze, so, spring, right?

Chilly pics, but ni-ni-ni-n-ice!
And a beautiful video that
brought feelings of anticipation
and joy to my soul.
A nice contrast between the two.
Many thanks to the contributors!

I get an email from Canada news...they showed their
Cherry Blossom pics with no snow. (Although, there
is a part of them that is south of us!)

Snow can go...we broke 300 inches...we did
good...now it's time for Daffodils and Crocuses!

I noticed the shoreline at the Sunset Bay campground has finally thawed out. Checking the forecasts, seeing you're into the 50's this weekend and no nighttime freezing temperatures past the middle of next week.
