The Houghton Waterfront has a number of beautiful gardens along the trail and Sarah Eles has some photos of them, along with a view of the Ranger III as it sails past the Portage Library and a sailboat docked on the waterfront near the Portage Lift Bridge.

Check out the bouquet of daffodils on the desk in that first window view shot. Just gorgeous! That’s Sarah’s daughter in the second photo, bordered by tulips on one side and the Bridgeview Park on the other side. The bike/walking trail along there is a great place to get some exercise, while enjoying the colorful tulips and you may even spot a boat or two at the docks along the way.

A little background for today’s video from Our Million Adventures. The following is shared from their YouTube page:

“Have you ever said "Someday"? Someday, I'll do it, or someday we'll go. We sure did. We wanted to travel, to experience life, to see the world without the clutter of "stuff". Someday we said...someday!
In 2018 "someday" came! It started as a crazy idea, and grew into a reality. We sold our possessions, and little by little our house became empty, and then we left it as well. Packed into a minivan with 5 kids, we set of on Our Million Adventures, a nomadic travel life, full of family time, hard work, and exploration.”
In all their travels they made their way here to the U.P. and share nine things they think you should do here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Beautiful pics! Great place to get your Ambassador
Pizza to go and enjoy it at the water's edge at
that fabulous Park!!

Gosh darn it Mary, now I've got a hankering for my favorite Ambassador Greek pizza, with some Italian sausage added. Just an 8 hour ride.

I recognized a couple of those waterfalls. I wish more people would identify them in their videos. Still, it was a great video.

Speaking of Spring flowers, take a look at the rose bush that somehow was brought back to life. After my wife passed, her roses were neglected for 6 years. Last Summer I built a trellis for them, did some pruning and just look at these hearty souls today. I'm sure she can see them.

Beautiful D.A. nice job!! I know your wife can see
them, I'd even say she might have had something to
do with how well they look today!!

D. A. (Midwested) it doesn't seem possible she has been gone that long. You sure have proven that pruning will bring great results - what a beautiful rose bush! It continues the theme of beautiful flowers in the post today.

D.A. those roses sure are beautiful. Wow. I'm sure your wife can see
them.

There is nothing wrong with an 8 hour drive for pizza.. I have been
known to drive 8 hours for a chicken dinner and to meet my cousin
who also drives 8 hours from the opposite direction. We have dinner
and visit for a couple of hours and then head home. Go for it.

What a pleasant set! And a pleasant tribute to
your wife, GREEN-THUMB D.A.! I can almost smell
them.
