We join Jean Dessellier again today with some more of nature’s artwork, this time along the shores of Lake Superior here in the Keweenaw. The combination of the cold, the wind, the snow and the water, sure works together to make some beautiful ice sculptures. The sunshine in Jean’s photos creates highlights and shadows, giving off a glow that makes them almost come to life. To think that artists work at making something like this for many hours, even weeks and Lake Superior creates it in a matter of minutes. It is truly fascinating, indeed.

More Lake Superior and ice in our video today. This artistry though, is a figure skating performance on a frozen Lake Superior, free of snow and perfectly frozen for skating.

She should be in the Winter Olympics.

She sure can skate! Very nice video today.

I wonder where the skater lives? Can't be U.P.
here. Our waters all have snow on them.

AND...what absolutely STUNNING photos!

I agree! The pictures are beautiful! The skater
was a joy to watch. Whether it's the Olympics or
a neighborhood pond, I always enjoy watching the
skaters. I loved to skate when I was a kid. Now
I'm a little hesitant to try again. Age has a way
of creeping up on us. Our minds say YES but our
heads just laugh at us.

From the YouTube information her name is Jessica Etreni from Thunder Bay. It appears that in 2016 she was nationally ranked in Canada but nothing newer pops up in searches, even though the video does seem to be made quite recently. She does have a Twitter account that was recently reactivated with this video. You can find it easily if interested.

Fantastic pics & video, I agree the skater is very
talented for sure! But I couldn't help
wondering..... How far would a puck go from a good
wrist or slap shot!! lol
