Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 04:23 am:

The month of December seems to have slipped right on by us, as we come to a close for 2020, also. Following our longstanding tradition, we hold this last day for remembering those loved ones and friends that have gone on before us:

Dennis Beaudoin, Sr.
Marty Bessolo
Don Brouillette
John Cadeau
Ed “Butch” Camp
Michael Hellman
John Lanyon
Jim Laplander
Rev. Paul Nominelli
Gordon Stubenrauch
Lucille Hendra Zei
Servicemen and women and frontline
workers who have given their all

We here at Pasty Central, extend our deepest sympathy to all that have lost someone near and dear to them. May they all RIP...

Please feel free to post the names of those you’d like to remember, also.

Special thanks to Nancy Haun who shared today’s Huron Bay Sunset in memory of her brother, Ed, “Butch” Camp.

By Jean Simmet (Calumetahmeek) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 02:04 pm:

This is my first post, but I have been reading the
Pasty Cam for years. I would like to mu dad and
mom's names to those we remember. Mom died in
2007. Her name is Mae Stefanich from Calumet from
Tamarack Hill. Dad, Victor Sneller, from Ahmeek
by Gratiot River, died this past Dec 23. He was
102 1/2 years old. All of the families are gone
from that generation, but not forgotten. Rest in
peace my family from the UP. Jean Sneller Simmet

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 03:07 pm:

Good to hear from you Jean Simmet (Calumetahmeek). My condolences on the recent passing of you Dad.

And condolences to everyone who has lost loved ones. It's heart breaking to read of so many who have lost several family members in the last year. May God comfort you all.

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 06:12 pm:

Condolences to all who have lost loved ones, this
past year and at any time. Cherish their memories!

And welcome, Jean Simmet. If you've been reading
Pasty Cam for years, you already know what a fine
and thoughtful group this is. Sending hugs from
all of us for your loss.

20 years ago (12-19-2000) my mother Dorothy "Dutu" Maninga left this world.

Gone but not forgotten...

By Jean Simmet (Calumetahmeek) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 06:52 pm:

Thank you! I also want to add that dad was a WW2
veteran who served under General Patton. Oh the
stories he would sometimes tell. Very precious
indeed.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 08:29 pm:

We appreciate your Dad's service, Jean! My Dad was also a WWII vet who would have been 102 this year, but he has been gone 35 years now. Wish he had told more stories! They may have been in the same neck of the woods at one time since my Dad was in the 28th in the thick of the Battle of the Bulge.

By Doug Walters (Dawalters) on Thursday, December 31, 2020 - 11:50 pm:

Three years ago tonight I spent the night at the nursing
home
with my wife of 48 years knowing that time was short. My
precious wife Deb passed on January 2, 2018. You get
through it but you don’t get over it. Love and thoughts are
with
you always.
