When Beth Jukuri sets out on her rural mail delivery route in the winter, it's always an adventure, but the plus side is the beautiful scenery she enjoys along the way. Today she takes us along with her somewhere between Chassell and Tapiola.

These were taken this past week on one of our windy and blustery days as you can see and they're quite snowy wherever they're taken, on the road, off on the shoulder or in the fields. Rivers that are still open in spots, snow banks pushed on the shoulder of the road, hay bales taking on another layer of snow in the open field and a mailbox well insulated with winter white. These are a few of Beth's favorite winter scenes and what make each day on her route interesting and unique!

Beth has a great eye for the beauty around her!

Looks like there's plenty of snow for the festivities later this week.

Looking at the past two years' of Winter Carnival photos, I reluctantly have to say that someone else will have to take the reigns this year to get photos. Thanks to United Airlines canceling the early flight from Houston to Chicago this Wednesday, Nat and I won't be able to make Winter Carnival this year. We are both quite sad about this, but we will be UP this summer for a couple weeks and hopefully with a little planning, we'll be back next year for Winter Carnival.

Great pictures. I love the mailbox. It reminds
me of the one we saw on our way to Whitefish Point
a few years back. They had two mailboxes, one
high and one low, for summer and winter delivery.
I have a picture here somewhere, and I know it's
been shown on pasty before too. It really made us
laugh.

We may get UP to winter carnival this year. We're
planning to leave here on Wednesday. Don't know
if we'll get to Houghton or not. We're not there
long and we'll want to spend the time with my mom.
But I'm sure somebody will get pictures.

Great weather...if your a pasty delivery, that is!

Great pictures one and all. I also like the mailbox picture. The ashen skies of winter are with us most days but March is marching our way to change that. Thanks for sharing Beth.

Another Winter Wonderland.
