We've had some cold temperatures lately, which of course leads to everything freezing, but by the looks of these walls of ice that Lindsay White and her kids found in Eagle River, they've been frozen for more than a few days. That's some pretty impressive ice there, forming what looks like caves behind them.

I'm guessing the kids must have had a fun time exploring around the icy walls, making memories of a great day spent outdoors in the fresh air and discovering the beauty of nature in the Keweenaw winter. If you're willing to get outside in the snowy weather, there's a multitude of discoveries to be made, so bundle up and go find them with the wonderment of a child.

Beautiful pictures and brave kids! Always worry about one of those 'cycles breaking loose while i was standing underneath.

N-n-n-ice! The second photo is pretty gutsy, standing underneath those spears.

...nice review, BTW.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, February 12, 2016 - 08:39 am:

I was thinking the same thing when I saw those
kids standing under the ice like that. No way
would I do that. Pretty sure they're safe
because there's no way that ice is coming down
right now. But I'd never be brave enough to do
it.

I love the review. The deer is so pretty and
love the bridge picture. Saw many a roof with
snow hanging over this last week. My mom's roof
runs right into the ground right now.
Unbelievable. And there's not even as much snow
as other years. Sure is an amazing sight UP
there.

WOW!

Man, those are some mega icicles. Thanks for sharing them, very enjoyable viewing.

The review has some great critter pictures, and, as Deb mentioned, the beautiful snow draped roof tops!

The waterfalls should be good come Spring!

The ice pics are spectacular! It is a natural "winter
carnival".

That's a LOT of icicles.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, February 13, 2016 - 11:34 am:

...and a lot of scotch on the rocks. ;-)
