Photos from Hagley Museum and Library

By
Charlie at Pasty Central (Chopper) on Sunday, October 11, 2015 - 10:40 pm:

Over the past decade the Pasty Cam has visited Atlas Powder at Senter a number of times. Bill Haller has often advanced the conversation (he wrote the book on it :o), and he's uncovered additional photos. Today's Shoebox Memory comes from Hagley Museum & Library in Wilmington, Delaware.

The men in the top photo are working on some of the infrastructure at Senter. The second closeup was included for a better view of the other men in the background of the photo.

Perhaps Bill can shed a little light on these shots, and we'll try to follow up next Sunday with more.

Have a good week :o)

Nothing but respect for those men!

Thanks Charlie!

Looks like a pretty cold day for those poor guys to be working outside.
Thank you, Charlie and Bill.

I heard a few explosions from Senter when I was in my
parents cottage on little Torch Lake. The train still ran in the
late '50s and early 60's. Then the Smith family bought the
land. Our school bus ran through Senter on its route for DBHS.

Brave men!
