When Donna MacIntosh heads outside with her camera, you know you're going to see some up close treats. Today she shares the end of the season flowers and seed heads with us, beginning with the setting sun, shining through a fading Nasturtium in her yard. There is still some color hanging on there, at least until the first frost hits.

Her next two shots are seed heads, one catching the rays of the sun and the other a surprise to find yet this time of year, a Dandelion fuzz still hanging on. Many people consider them weeds, but when you think about the joy they give a child, being able to pick handfuls for Mom when they're blooming or waving them in the air to disperse all the fuzz, not to mention how much bees love them, too, maybe they aren't as pesky as first thought.

Donna's last photo was a mystery to me when I first spotted it, but what a unique glimpse of a sunflower head. Zooming in close like this you can see all the detail that makes up the middle of the sunflower, which will soon be nourishment for the birds. Beauty and usefulness in nature, a gift for us all.

Thank you all! Oh the frost has hit...and all my
"stuff" has been cleaned up....and put away...and
ready for the next season. the Sunflower turned to
seed...the birds ate every one of the seeds too!
It's so awesome to watch Mother Nature doing her
thing! :D

Great stuff, Donna!
I share Alex's sentiment; your photography has gotten much better in recent times. What camera do you use?

Thank you again everyone! Capt'...I'm on my 4th or
5th used Nikon Coolpix S6100...I buy them used off
Amazon. (I've washed them, drop them, etc...I go
through them...and the one in the washing machine,
after I got it dried out...it worked well for quite
awhile! They take a licking....lol!!) I love the
options on the inside/tools of this, and after years
of using it, still find new things! LOL...But I am
seriously loving Macro photography, and cropping
those shots!
