Frank Jezek lives on the shores of Lake Superior in the Ontonagon area. It's been awhile since he's seen open water, so he was excited to share today's photos of just how quickly the ice disappears when the temperatures warm up.

The first three shots were taken this past weekend, when Frank and Chinkles were on the shoreline checking out the ice that was still there. Then the last two photos were taken four days later and the ice is all but gone. Of course it has since all disappeared now.

I thought it was quite interesting that the waters of Lake Superior were so brown looking in Frank's last two photos. Would that be from all the sand and dirt that was on top of the ice? It doesn't look like there were waves there that day, stirring things up. What do you think it's from?

The "mud line" is from all of the rivers, streams, creeks and brooks running into the Big Lake.
Nice shots, Frank and looks like Chinkels has found a great home.

Looks like Crinkles is determining how much longer before the ice is melted completely.
