The temps had briefly gotten to above 0° here in the Keweenaw, which means that the kids can be outside playing for more than ten minutes without worrying about them getting frostbite. Kassy Kallio was out there with her kids, snapping pictures of them having fun in the snow. Being silly, sledding down hills, jumping off snowbanks and wearing off energy. That's what winter fun is all about.

One of the best things about winter UP here, is that the snow gets so deep that when you're climbing trees, you don't have to worry about falling, since you've got a good cushion of snow below. You can tell by the smiles on the kids faces, just how much fun it is to be outdoors, enjoying the snow play!
