Every year around this time, we get an update on a special bird we've been following through the years. George and Paulette Beveridge informed me when they sent today's photos of Pretty Bird, that it will be 8 years in April that they have been feeding him. They said when the weather is real cold he doesn't come out to eat, one of the many ways he shows what a smart bird he is. When he comes to the Beverages' for dinner, he partakes of shelled sunflower seeds and chopped up apple, eating one entire apple in four days. Let's hope for continued visits and updates for this Pasty Cam famous Ruffed Grouse #Partridge, as we often call them here in the Keweenaw#.

Pretty Bird isn't the only visitor that George and Paulette feed though. In the bottom photo there are about 20 deer that come in to feed daily near their home out in Bootjack. They feed them through the Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsman Club, to help them get through the long winters here UP North. The benefit for George and Paulette is that they get to watch their antics while they eat their dinner, something they both said that they love to do. I'm guessing the deer and Pretty Bird love that they do, too.
