In just one short day, we will be joining you pasty makers there in the homeland. My family and myself will be making the trek northward to visit family and freinds. Will be good to be back home, and once again look out over the waters of Lake Superior. Ah, the good old life in the slow lane, in Michigan's Copper Country. Keep the pasty's warm for us will ya!!

Hi, I was born and raised in Lower Michigan near Detroit but my fathers love and heart were in the Upper Pennisula where he and my brothers built our cabin when I was 2 years old. We spent several weeks each summer there and Lake Michigan is where I learned how to swim and came to love the water. I spent my honeymoon up there and my husband (from Tennessee) came to be as attached to it as I am. We now live in Tennessee but I do so miss the wonderful Great Lakes. I would love to see some photos posted of areas of Lake Michigan especially around Escanaba and if anyone has heard of it Rexton, Mi. Thats where the cabin was, on Stroble Lake. I have spent many hours of my childhood around and exploring at the Cut River Bridge, shots of that would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks for all the great shots and memories that come back just looking at the photos and keeping at "Pasty" logo on my desktop. A recipe of Pasties that I can leave out the rubago would be great...

hi, We was in south range last August and, stayed at a motel right in town and, they had a resturant right next door and, they had the best finnish coffee cake I have ever had. I wish they would sell that online.

Discovered your site and love it. Spent 75 through 80 in Houghton and Hancock, worked at Douglas House, Tech (driving ski bus to Mt. Ripley) and Houghton County Transit. Haven"t been back since, but have fond memories. Is lower Pewabic Location still in existence? Would love to hear info on anything I mentioned.

Happy Cinco de Maya. May has a few other days -- Mothers Day, Minnesota Fishing Opener, (Wisconsin opener too) and Memorial Day. Don't know when the Michigan opener is, but surely could include that too. Just havin' a little fun, Charlie. Hope all is well with you. We had a very washed out Horse Expo, as I'm sure John told you. Takes some Finnish sisu to make it through. --- Sandy ---
