This giant anchor is at the gateway to the Keweenaw in L'Anse, on the eastern side of the Bay. The waterfront is quiet these days, in contrast to the scene on the Pasty Cam back in September of '99.

By the way, there's a place in L'Anse you might want to consider for a giant Yooper Christmas gift this year: The Hilltop Restaurant, home of their world-famous sweetrolls.

Have you noticed that in the Big Picture the lightest cloud seems in the form of a ship with the progressively darker clouds echoing the shape?

Enjoy seeing all the pictures. They make us a little homesick but then we go to the beach and sit in the sunshine to get over it.

It looks like the bay in L'Anse has ice on it? Is the lake beginning to freeze?

Merry Christmas to you'all from the sunny south.
