We receive a lot of requests here at Pasty Central for certain favorite spots around the region. One of those favorite places is Twin Lakes Campground. Our thanks to Peggy Riemer for fulfilling that request in today's guest photo.

The park has a wonderful carpet of gold these days, and soon these tables will start climbing the trees (see last Monday's Pasty Cam).

Any memories of Twin Lakes?

What an inviting photo! Wouldn't you just love to shuffle through those leaves?!
Thanks for jogging so many wonderful memories of growing up in the Copper Country. Even though I love living in the great Pacific Northwest our leaves, when they fall, are kind of soggy :o(

Wonderful warm lakes to swim in. Our Sunday School picnic was held there every year. Anyone out there from Franklin St. Church in Hancock?

I will always have a private chuckle when I see picnic tables in the fall!

To R. Somero
My husband and I were married in the Franklin Street Church 21 years ago. He was a Sunday school teacher there during his years at Tech. We were also there visiting for Christmas the year it burned. Very sad, but they have a lovely new building up on the hill.

Great picture. Remind me of the days when I would go camping at Twin Lakies with my family. One of my favorite state parks.

Suddenly I am very jealous of those of you who can shuffle through those leaves, smell fall and feel the crisp air. Thank you, thank you for sharing all this with us in your photos.

Once a northerner always a northerner in your heart, I guess.

I grew up in Twin Lakes in the 60's and 70's. I have so many memories of the park. As soon as I was old enough to go to the park alone, I went there at least once a day. It is where I learned to swim, where I had my first kiss. It is where I met friends, where I learned about life, love and myself. The last time I was there was in 1999 with my siblings. It was around midnight and the moon was so bright, we could see each other perfectly. We were in Twin Lakes to clean out the home we grew up in after my mother's passing. Although I know that I can always go back to visit, it will never be the same. Growing up it was a place to run to, a place to think things out. It was a saving grace and I miss it so much.

I knew the place as soon as I saw the picture. Many, many wonderful memories from the past and more to make in the future with my family and friends. Great picture!
