It has been suggested that the "Pasty Cam" be expanded to include a daily picture from the eastern U.P., and perhaps one from the Escanaba area, or Western, central, etc. So much beauty all throughout the land of pasties!

Matt Behrens sends his greetings to all the other MTU grads who frequent these pages. He took this shot of the falls with a Canon Point and Shoot SureShot Tele70... then scanned it when he got home. Yooper hi-tech at its finest :o)

Anybody out there ever visit Tahquamenon?

Oh, yes, we've been there several times and it would be neat to have that area included in the Pasty cam. But... give me the Keweenaw most of all, I love it!

Great shot, brings back good memories. How about Hungarian Falls and Douglass Houghton Falls also?

I absolutely love seeing Tahquamenon on here! And my number one reason why... This is where Craig proposed to me!!!!! The proposal came after a long 4 mile hike to the falls, the boats were not running. So having Craig deal with my little bit of complaining about having to hike all that way back, he popped the question, and that last 4 miles just flew by! I was riding on cloud 9! The wedding is in August 2001! Thanks for sharing this shot with us, we plan on visiting in the Spring and hopefully next Fall for the colors! :o) (sorry I don't have any pictures to share!)

Ah,yes, many times but not for about thirty years. I don't remember any observation deck being there at that time. One just walked on a path through the woods from the parking lot to the falls seeing it come closer and closer through the trees. We also went to the lower falls on the Toonerville Trolley (probably not spelled correctly). Ah, great memories, brought back by your many photos. Muchisimas Gracias!

Thanks for the great shot. I can't visit Taquamanon: every time I do it either pours rain or snows! I do enjoy the occasional shot from out of the Copper Country, but Keweenaw is why I visit you every day!

To R. Somero.....Unfortunately the Douglass Houghton Falls are no longer open to the public....The owner, I believe, decided it was too much of a risk.

Oh thank you for the memories. This looks just like a picture we have from when my parents took us to the falls in the 70's! It was so much fun! we even got to go under the falls then! We got it all with our movie camera too! The last time we were there I don't believe we were aloud under it. We also seen the lower falls. Any pictures of that in the near future? Every year I try to talk my husband into going up there, I will keep trying or go myself!
Thanks again it is so beautiful!!!

Many years ago I worked as a Ranger at Tahquamenon Falls State Park. There is now a well maintained trail between the Upper and Lower Falls which is great to walk in the fall of the year. Massive hemlocks abound and the river is frothy with rapids close to the Lower Falls. The trail is about 3 miles one way as I recall.
