Hey! My name is Pam Fowler...I lived in Ahmeek (8 Senter St) next to the old RC cola bottling building. I lived there until I was 8 years old...then moved to Miami Florida. I went to a 2 story elementary school on the east side of 41...I understand that old school was torn down several years ago.
I have fond memories of the park...and ice skating there in the winter. I learned to water ski at Gratiot (sp?) Lake and snow ski in Houghton or Hancock...not sure which side of the river. I learned how to swim at the Mendota lighthouse as my parents were good friends of the owners at that time. I have so many fond memories of Ahmeek. I guess time has changed many things...but my dream is to come back and visit with my husband...preferably in late summer when it is starting to get really cool.
If anyone that has lived in Ahmeek is out there...I would love to hear from you
PS Does anyone remember the really BIG fire on Halloween night..about 1959????

Any plans on having another reunion in the future? My dad grew up in Ahmeek. I would like to drive him up if you are. His name is Donald Williams.

The first Ahmeek School Reunion took place in 1991. It was a great success.
Hundreds of former students and their families attended the celebration.
The second such reunion will be held on Saturday, July 14th 2001.
We are making every effort to locate former students. If you or one of
