For those of us who live in these parts, a constant attraction is the Lake. Usually this time of year it's a little difficult to walk along the shore, but not so this December.

Tonight's sunset was beautiful, almost summer-like. It reminded us of a shot we received sometime back from Dan Urbanski, though tonight's sky was a bit more pink than orange. But you get the idea.

I sure hope it's a white Christmas! I'm getting sick and tired of looking at grass!

It won't hurt my feelings if we don't have a white Christmas!! Bring it on!

That lake shore is SO Superior!! Charlie, are
those some of your friends the other side of those
rocks?

Great Photograph! Yes the lakeshore is beautiful no matter what time of the year it is.

Ditto! The texture of the water, the composition, color...all wonderful! Dan you outdo yourself each time.

I wonder if the colors have anything to do with the time of the year. Out here in Ventura, we also have great color in the sunsets over the Pacific, and better at this time of year.

One thing you might find curious, when we look out at the ocean from Ventura to Santa Barbara, it looks more like a lake because we can see the other side. Not really. We see the Channel Islands and they "look" like the other side. Lake Superior, on the other hand, looks more like an ocean because you can't see the other side! My mother who was a true Yooper used to always call the ocean "the lake" when she came out to visit.
