This morning the Copper Country was treated to a blast of sugary coating for all the grass and trees. On the way back from Hancock, I just had to grab this shot of the new Designotype building out by the Airport. Brian Helminen and his crew have spacious new offices, in a location midway between Calumet and Houghton.

Looks like the snow is here to stay this time.

Just got done reading a severe weather alert for the area up there. Looks like you're going to get it. I'll have to watch Tech's Campus Cam tomorrow to see what's happening. Any other live cams up in that area?

Detroit Area can expect just rain. Bummer. Although I still have to fix my Silver Bear E-Z Glide Snow Scoop; I bent the handle last winter. So I guess the snow can hold off for a bit.

Hi Paul,
You asked about any other web cams up in the upper, I found a few -
http://www.nmu.edu/webcam.htm
and scroll to the bottom of this page at -
http://www.acs.nmu.edu/webcam.htm

I have to head up that way later on today and have been trying to keep an eye on things myself. I got a date with a title company Wednesday morning (purchased me some land in the central U.P.), and wouldn't miss this date for the world :)

Go to John Dee's Snow Central at www.johndee.com.

Then click on N.C.N. in the menu at left. It is his Northwoods Cam Network and you'll see a bunch of nearly live cams across the UP, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Beautiful...and about time!

For webcams over the whole state, go to www.woodtv.com (Grand Rapids area). Click on the bar that says "Webcams Across Michigan". Mine is listed in my favorites so it's been awhile since I actually pulled it up that way. It shows live pictures from all over. Wish our rain was all snow like you folks are getting. Enjoy it for all of us trolls.

the snow must be bringing music closer to the business's of the Great Keweenaw! Am looking forward to another snomobiling trip off the main trails this winter, the only place to ride to enjoy the beauty.

Congratulations, Brian and Margie! The new building looks terrific, and what a nice step up for you all! For those of you who don't know much about one of the Copper Country's finest printing houses, check out the Designotype website at http://www.designotype.com/

By Diana, Oh on Friday, November 30, 2001 - 01:13 pm:

Thanks for the picture of Designotype's new building. I worked for them last year this time. CONGRATULATIONS Brian and Margaret on the new building. Hopefully, someday, I'll get back up there to see you and the building, plus cross country ski.NO SNOW here in Ohio as of yet for me to put on my skis. RAIN!!!!
I really do miss the UP (Calumet/Laurium), in the few months I worked there I came to love that area. Shopping at Christmas in downtown Calumet with the snow falling and the music drifting thru the air from the stationary/staples store (has a truck with a decorated tree out front)was like walking back into time. As I walked and shopped I had to remind myself that this was now 2000-1. I use to shop like that all the time in our small town shops years ago here in Ohio. Long are those days gone in our town. Progress and local huge malls have replaced them.
