This roadside scene is also on M26, near Lake Mine. I love that view of the hills near Greenland and Mass City.

My dad was born in Ashland, KY and my mom near Pittsburgh, PA, and, although I've spent my whole life in southeast Michigan, I've always had the feeling that I belonged near hills somewhere. When I see a beautiful picture like this, it makes me feel homesick!

Dan, The moment I saw the picture on the homepage I knew exactly where you took it! Strange, but this view captured my attention when I was but a boy traveling to Ontonogon County with my family to visit relatives. Later, when I worked in the forests in that region I would be transported in my mind to those joyous times of my youth. Actually, this picture is where the road starts to drop off to cross the East Br. of the Firesteel. Thanks for allowing me to go back to my past again today!
