We hastily revisited it, after discovering the first September 28, 2003 picture had been uploaded without permission of the original publication. Yours is the first site I check each morning. Love the photography. The pasties are great. The UP is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. The flies and mosquitos ...oh well!

I thought you might like a vintage picture from the other side of the peninsula. This is a picture of my wife (Carol Sims---now Cousins) and a young friend making mud-pies in the town of Pickford in the 1930's. They were probably mud pasties!

Up until very recently, if you were thirsty in Pickford you'd better be prepared to settle for water or a soft drink, the town was notoriously dry.

Thanks Mr. Cousins! Shortly after your shoebox memory arrived, Ken Austin from Wisconsin sent us a favorite recipe from an old Eagle Harbor recipe book. A little Elephant Stew to go with those mud pasties.

Sorry for the delay in replying to your recent shipping note. Our pasties arrived in good condition on Tuesday July 31 and we are very pleased with them.

We came from England 30 years ago and would like to compliment your organization on producing real "Cornish Pasties". The picnic size is typically of what you get in Cornwall and slightly larger than the variety sold by Harrods in London.

Well done, keep up the good work. You can be sure that I will alert my English friends to your web site.

Side Note: We have suspended pasty orders during August, while we ship 12,000 of the picnic size to the Minnesota State Fair. Among those pasties some lucky winner will buy pasty number 100,000 of this project, and be awarded with some neat prizes! Stay tuned to the Pasty Cam for details. The fair begins August 23.

I also read the pasty.com the first thing every morning and if todays picture isn't ready, will go back until it is.
R. Cousins mentioned Pickford was "dry". My Mother was from Chassel and wondering if it is still dry, too. Although we lived in Munising my Mother never lost her love of the Copper Country, so I grew up thinking it was a very special place. It is!

The best mud brownies are made from a drying mud puddle, while the mud shines like chocolate frosting! Cut into squares and serve!

What is happening here with all the strange dates posted, mostly not from today 9-29-03?

Must be a time warp or maybe sun-spots? Didn't think this was what I saw yesterday. :>)

Alice, Ventura, and Ken from da U.P.....you guys are cracking me up. Maybe it is sun spots??? The shoebox memory from 9/29 was pulled because Charlie couldn't get permission from the owner of the photo. (The photo was scanned from a book) Cool photo though. Anyway...don't know what's up with the dates...but good eye Alice.
