The first shot is at dusk, waiting for darkness so the show can begin. Compare to the second big picture... from a different angle (note the pavilion). The shot is unretouched - the mysterious octupus in the sky a product of lights and lens of the Pasty Cam.

Pasty Central now hosts over a hundred U.P. domains, many of them on our home page. One notable site is the Village of Lake Linden, with a wealth of information and contacts at City Hall. Another domain with rich content from the region is CopperHarbor.org. This evening (July 4) Copper Harbor will have its turn in the fireworks competition. See you there!

My hat is off to the hardworking VOLUNTEERS of the Lake Linden Fire Department and to everyone else that helps to put on one of the most spectacular 4th of July celebrations in our area. What a fine job they do. Each and every year!

THANK YOU to all of you!

I took my daughters to fireworks last night. Aprox drive time was 1/2 an hour from our home. They were good, but not like "Fire on the Bay" in Big Bay which we saw 2 years ago. Fireworks away from home mean so much more. They are more special. Looks like a great time in Lake Linden. The Northern Lights when at full show are so much better than any man made fireworks I've ever seen. Happy 4th of July to all reading this post. Remember our FREEDOM and who and what gave it to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks to all who had a hand in the fireworks at Lake Linden last night. They were truly beautiful!! They just seem to get bigger and better each year.

Thank you again!!

It sure looks nice away from the hubbub of all the traffic. Everything down here is so fast it seems so nice and quiet. I sure do wish I was there

This is a message to the volunteer fire department of Lake Linden. My childhood 4th's will always hold a special place in my heart because of your fantastic work and enthusiasm. I was commenting on the 4th here in South Bend that it is sooooo boring compared to you good folks up there. Thanks for wonderful memories

This was the first 4th of July that I've missed in several years. I tried to explain to my friends in Florida that the 4th in Lake Linden is like Christmas times 10, but they don't understand. I woke up on the 4th really homesick and missing Lake Linden. I wanted to be at the parade, the park and the Legion with everyone. Hopefully I'll be there next year. Thank you Pasty Central, you do a fantastic job giving all of us a little bit of home. Mary
