I believe it's the Sand Point Lighthouse, on the west shore of Little Bay De Noc - Escanaba

By Erik@daTech on Friday, April 6, 2001 - 11:50 pm:

Yes, I agree that it is the lighthouse in Escanaba. It's owned by the Delta County Historical Society and they have other buildings in the immediate area as well -- in particular a really great museum. They are also putting the finishing touches on a new archival reading room where folks interested in the history of Delta County can conduct research. Well worth a visit when you are passing through the area.

I have no idea.

By Myrtle, Calumet on Saturday, April 7, 2001 - 11:35 am:

I think it is the Jacobsville lighthouse

That'd be Sand Point Lighthouse, in the northeast corner of Ludington Park in Escanaba.

My question is: Which way is the water?

Thanks.

By Ken from da U P on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 - 02:25 pm:

The water is to the left of this picture and further behind the buildings in the background.
Little Bay De Noc, that is. The building was used as a residence for Coast Gaurd personnel before it was restored to it's original specs.
I helped move furniture there in the mid-60s. That circular stairway was fun to carry large dressers etc. up. 'Course I was much younger then!

Thanks, Ken, for the information.
