Despite snowy cold weather which led to a somewhat lighter turnout, the Michigan Tech Winter Carnival All-Nighter was a flurry of activity. Onlookers watched statue builders race the dawn trying to finish their statues before judging began.

It's nice to know that other people miss the beauty that is the Keweenaw. Having a site like pasty.com to go to each day is the closest thing that some of us have to see our real home. I myself enjoy every moment I get to spend in the U.P.

I left the Soo in 1966, and Michigan in 1973, but I still love it in the UP.

I spent time in the U.P. whenever I went to see my Grandmother. I moved from Michigan in 1983,but still believe Michigan to be the most beautiful place in the world. The last time I was in the U.P. was in 1996,when my Grandmother was ill. I miss Michigan;and the friendliness of all the people.
