Paul and I were cross country skiing around Lake Fanny Hooe and the Fort Wilkins state park on Saturday, January 20th. The trail conditions were great, and we got to see a different side of Fort Wilkins. Luckily, Paul didn't send in any of the photos of me crashing on my skis! This is our Pasty Cam debut, although I've been bugging Paul to submit photos for a while. I think he takes some great shots, and so do my scrapbooking friends! The snow was about 2-3' deep in places - Paul went wading for a bit to get some of his other shots.

Now you can see why the soldiers didn't like it up here too much in the winter! I can't even imagine being that geographically isolated, not to mention all of the snow.

Perfect timing! I was hoping the Pasty Cam would put more pictures of the Copper Harbor area. I would love to see it in winter sometime. I must have hundreds of pictures of the fort in summer!
Well done!
