The nights were so bright this week, you could practically drive without headlights. Just north of Mohawk, Jonathan set up his new tripod and let the Pasty Cam take a look at this old cabin. If you're into photography, you can appreciate the challenges of low light. If you're into the U.P., you might want to try this larger view as our Windows "Wallpaper of the Week" (simply mouse-over the picture, right click, and "Set as Wallpaper")

Last Friday we received so many comments about this 800x600 pixel version of the Pasty Cam, we'll try to bring you one each week. It fits perfectly on most desktops. It case you missed the January 5th WOW, here it is again.

Great picture! It makes me want to grab my camera and try to capture my own night scenes. You've had pictures of several churches and I specially liked the one of the Phoenix church from November. How about a winter scene of Our Lady of the Pines in Copper Harbor.

SORRY CHARLIE, I'D HAVE TO GIVE UP MY FROZEN TEQUAMENON FALLS WALLPAPER! NO CAN DO! OTHERWISE I WOULD! HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Well, Charlie, I did just give up my frozen Tahq picture for this little Hobbit moonlit cabin.

Just received the calendar. It is lovely and I like the glossy paper.

Jonathan,
Outstanding job taking this picture. Keweenaw moonlit cabin will become a classic winter scene of the Keweenaw. The Keweenaw is truly a magical place. Thank you for sharing.

Ditto -- I'd have to give up my Tahquamenon wallpaper as well.

Looks like a magical little get-a-way to me...so peaceful. Even has a ski slop for the squirrles in front to the right!

I would have to give up moonset over the lake, which I gave up frozen Tahquamenon for. Keep up the great work. I love the pictures. I get many comments from the low landers here in Hoosier land about my wall paper!

By Betty - AZ on Friday, January 12, 2001 - 04:43 pm:

Ditto Ann: I gave up the beautiful frozen Tahquamenon for the moonset over the lake, and not ready to give it up either. I love all the pictures. Nice to look at them when we are out here in AZ.

I've got moonset over the lake as wallpaper, too, and don't want to give it up. I love to get my "Michigan fix" every day by checking out Pasty Cam! Keep up the great work!

I have been collecting these beautiful shots for years - many may not realize that when they "right click" on the photo they should then use the "Save Picture As" option and save it in Windows - it can then still be used as Wallpaper - where as if they "Right Click" and save it as Wallpaper they over write any previous Wallpaper that they may have captured the same way.

Thanks again for all the beautiful shots!

As one who loves moonlight skiing, this photo was my favorite of the year! It really captures the unworldly gray shades of a moonlit night on skis.
