By
Mary Drew at Pasty Central on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 - 06:17 am:

Another month has ended, another summer gone by....as we have done for years, we pause on this day to reflect on a peaceful scene and remember the names of loved ones and friends that have passed from our midst:

Frank Herveat
Edna Sibilsky
Sandra Stead
Dan Urbanski

Also, never forgetting the courageous men and women who left us, while defending our freedom.

Today's sunset comes to us as a special remembrance, of a special man, with many talents, Dan Urbanski. Thanks for sharing with us Dan! You're welcome to include the names of someone dear to you...

By Capt. Paul in Nevada on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 - 03:28 pm:

Does it have to be only people we know and love???

The day Dr. Nat and I moved to Nevada (July 30) we had to put our little kitty, Morgan, to sleep, which made for a very somber 3 day trip to Vegas. The one comforting thing that did happen was as we were driving across the open fields of Minnesota that evening, we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets ever; a re-assuring sign that Morgan was telling us everything would be alright.

We know "Morga-monster" is sitting in a big kitty tree looking out the windows of Heaven upon us each and every day..........

By Patty Urbanski on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 - 04:19 pm:

The picture above is one that Dan took of "Sunset Rock" a small
piece of paradise, 100 feet of beach and a rocky point (Copper
Harbor conglomerate), that we purchased last Fall near our
home. The plan was that we were going to build a small cabin on
the property with the view as you see it above and sunsets year
round. I plan to still try and build the cabin and spend as much
time there as possible.

Thank you for continuing to remember Dan in his pictures and a
calendar. My love and condolences to all of the families who
have lost loved ones this year.

Patty

If you continue out of Copper Harbor..north on 41..it ends and then goes into Mandan Loop. What is out there on this red dirt road? Anything of interest? Is it private? Is this where Sharon's cam is hiding?

By Patty Urbanski on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 - 05:15 pm:

High Rock Bay. Keep going out the Mandan til you get to the
turnoff to the Bay. Turn left. drive and drive over bumpy roads
(have to have a 4-wheel drive vehicle to cross over the Beaver
Pond). Then when you finally get there, take hours to walk the
beaches and loll in the agates. Dan and I went there and camped
every summer for 17 years. Also drove the Mandan many times
all around and out to Keystone Beach. Experiencing the
Keweenaw means going off the beaten path to places you've
never explored before. The end of the wreck road was our first
camping spot. Then the Montreal River area and finally settled
on High Rock Bay every year. Be brave, be adventurous.

does fly...forget it. It is too frightful of a trip for me. Did you get any pictures?
