First time in a long time a new "Welcome to..." sign crossed my path Wednesday. I'd almost forgotten how to make license plates (wonder if we have any incarcerated Camwatchers?)

Great picture! I think those massive ships are so much fun to watch!! One of my favorite views of Lake Superior is watching them sail by! On tues. night on the History Channel a new show was aired "The Death of the Edmund Fitzgerald", it was a very informative show with interviews of some of the family members. This is a great site! Thankyou!

My sisters and I knew Ransom's daughter Janice Cunday when we lived in Hubbell in the early 60's.

Well, Toivo, good wishes for great traveling! I'm gonna enjoy following your travels again. Let us know some of the mileage between towns as you go along. Canada seems to have lots of wilderness.

Ransom Cundy was one of my first cousins also. He was alot of fun and a big tease when we were kids. We all miss him and his mom and dad. Yes the song is sad, but it tells a true story of the diaster. My prayers go out to his daughter cheryl and grandchildren. Mary Jean

There is no doubt in anyone's mind how the tragic sinking of the Fitzgerald brought on pain and loss of family, friends, and loved ones of all the 29 crew members aboard!

I'm a song writer and I'm glad that Gordon Lightfoot wrote that song, so I didn't have to do it. I stood next to him, in Traverse City once, at the Maritime Accademy, when they celebrated the sinking by ringing the bell 29 times. It was years ago now, but the chill still goes through me when I think of it. Thanks to Gordon for expressing an unexpressable sorrow in such a memorable way.
