According to the time stamp on the email, this arrived less than 30 minutes ago. I'm assuming Donn de Yampert was in Escanaba overnight and was up in time to see the sun's arrival.

Hopefully today we will be picking up the new resident van which so many Pasty Cammies helped make possible. We'll be sure to get some pictures of the maiden voyage. Many thanks again for your generous contributions.

What a lovely PEACEful picture! My thoughts and prayers are with all whom are not enjoying such a peaceful place today.

By EM,MI on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 09:13 am:

What a beautiful picture! Morning is the best time of the day, It would be wonderful if such a scene could be shared by the whole world. Someone mentioned a Quilt raffle going on by the ladies of Stillwaters to raise money to keep them in material. Is it possible to get more information about it?

By Marvin, Florida, Bumbletown on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 09:18 am:

With all that is going on in the world this morning, this is a peacefull way to start the day. Pictures like this help keep us in a positive frame of mind. Our prayers are with our troops and their familes.

By Becky,Lansing/Tamarack City on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 09:52 am:

I notice the ladies at Stillwaters make quilts? I have a small box of different materials just waiting to go into a quilt. Let me know if the ladies could use it and UPS will be at your door. Great picture!

Great picture Donn. When do you have time to do your PT profession when you are taking such great photography? Or are you practicing for your next profession? Keep'em coming, the pics are awesome.

By Kate - Ann Arbor MI on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 10:34 am:

WOW - double WOW!

By Karen P, MN on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 11:05 am:

WOW. This isn't any morning sunrise, this is a spring morning. Notice there is still ice on the lake. Thanks Donn. You have a wonderful eye.

By Kathi, near Detroit on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 11:06 am:

It's definitely a WOW - and another spectacular photo that would make a fine jigsaw puzzle. How peaceful. You can "hear" the quiet.

By Greta, Ca on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 12:20 pm:

What a beautiful, peaceful picture. It looks like spring has sprung up there - which means summer's a comin', and so are we. Yes!!!

By Rivera on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 12:51 pm:

Indeed, remember our brave soldiers who are fighting and dying to preserve the peace (from whence we get such beautiful pictures) we know at home. Freedom (and peace) is not free.

By Leslie, Illinois on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 12:52 pm:

Another great photo putting hope like a sunrise into another day. Not so sure about the jigsaw puzzle though, even though I am a puzzle nut, and see lots of great potential puzzles here on the cam (just a few by Mr. de Yampert!). I wonder ... What is it that makes a good jigsaw puzzle? Or is it just a personal thing?

By S A - California on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 01:09 pm:

Jigsaw puzzles, using some of your great photos, sounds like a good way to raise funds for Still Waters.

By Proud grannny - U.P. on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 01:43 pm:

What a calming effect this picture gives ya! It's gorgeous! I think jig saw puzzles from the photos would be $ $ $ for Stillwaters.

By Keweenawwannabe on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 01:49 pm:

Good to see more pictures of the Escanaba area...... Lake Michigan is not as dramatic as Lake Superior but in it's gentle way it is every bit as beautiful...I was born on Lake Michigan...grew up on Lake Superior...and now back on Lake Michigan....I love them both!!!

By Proud Yooper - MI on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - 04:18 pm:

Calming, serene, reflection of beauty - All of the above when I look at the picture.

Wow, two same postings from me....guess I really meant what I saw or else it's been one of those daze, I mean days!
By the way - Did Toivo leave WA and Tina? Last I heard he had an oil leak on his car and had to stay another day before heading out to Oregon. I'm sure he didn't mind the extra day. : )

Hei, Donn, Really a beautimous pic. Is this taken by the West Gladstone bridge on cr 420 on the Mead #2 dam? Doesn't look like the Boney Falls dam. Or is it the # 1 down by the mill?

By Me on Thursday, March 27, 2003 - 01:02 am:
