The Tahquamenon Falls has plenty of visitors in the spring, summer and fall, but the numbers dwindle down quite a bit during the winter months. Thanks to Brenda Leigh and her hubby, we're treated to an icy visit there today.

They start out demonstrating the height of the snow cap on the information sign and move along to the one letting them know how many steps there are to the brink of the falls. You can see that the falls is partially frozen along the sides, but in the middle where the water is racing over the edge, it hasn't been able to freeze up. Brenda also snapped some interesting ice photos from around the walls of the falls. My favorite is the 5th photo, with the different colors showing through the icy wall. Simply beautiful.

FOOTNOTE: Yesterday's shots of the deer in Iron Mountain City Park, from Melody Provost Holmes were pretty interesting. If you missed them, just click here: Wednesday, Feb. 26th, to take a look at them!

What stunning shots of one of my favorite UP places! I'll never get a chance to see it in person so this is a wonderful way to see this fabulous place in the quiet of winter. Thanks for sharing it with us folks!

Waterfalls are my second favorite sights that Mother Nature has to offer. My favorite being Geese flying North.
