Good Morning all. I hope you have a good week. :-)

Good morning Marianne! Good morning everyone!

Wonder how many people will arrive at work at the wrong time today!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, November 4, 2013 - 07:58 am:

Good morning, Marianne and Jbuck!
It's gonna take some time for me to get used to the time change ~ however I like it better in the Fall ~ don't like to "Spring forward"!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Monday, November 4, 2013 - 08:08 am:

Not me! I arrived at work well before my start time, as usual. Of course, coming from New Mexico and the Mountain time zone yesterday sure helped that. My only problem this morning (aside from having to return to Houston) was that I brought back whatever sickness was floating around in Denver last week.....

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, November 4, 2013 - 08:21 am:

Lots of liquids and plenty of rest, Capt.!:(

By Dunerat (Dunerat) on Monday, November 4, 2013 - 08:23 am:

Good morning, all! Have a great week!

Capt, suggestions:
-sleep in a hooded sweatshirt if you can tolerate it, to keep your head and neck warm.
-eat lots of protein (I prefer loading up on balanced amino acid tablets), and eat as few carbs as possible.

Time for the flu vaccine. I got mine on the 3rd of October, so it should have kicked in by now. I also got the pneumonia vaccine which is supposed to be good for 5 years. At our age (most of us here, anyway), you can't be too careful.

Have a great Monday!

This is totally wrong. For those of you that haven't heard this story, the people in the UP depend on their meat by hunting and "harvesting". I would like to know how many people eat chicken, pork and beef? What do you think?

BTW, haven't had the flu or a cold since we moved here. The secret to staying healthy is to breath as much Lake Superior air that you can. :)

After personally experiencing for the first time in my life hitting a deer the other night, Bob was driving, I feel hunting is the more desirable choice! Our car is mangled, it will be fixed but we be out a car til it's fixed. Not to mentioned it scared the heck out of me. Bob has hit deer before. This deer was lucky in the sense it died right away but that's not the case all the time. There are times the Sheriff or D.N.R. are called out to finish them off. With hunting that is not a problem. Raised on a farm, I love beef, pork, and poultry. They are my favorite choices.

Janie T. You have many other vehicles to use as your car is being repaired. Just saying

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, November 4, 2013 - 07:46 pm:

I truly am glad nobody got hurt.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 07:43 am:

Janie, so happy that you didn't get hurt. A friend of mine out here hit one on Sunday night. Thankfully, she and her girls are alright, also. They just come out of nowhere and you just can't avoid them.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 09:26 am:

A fellow hit three horses on the hwy outside the village of Bethel recently. The horses had gotten loose apparently and since it was dark the fellow didn't see them until it was too late. One was killed but the other two were injured so badly they had to be euthanized. So very, very sad.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 09:45 am:

Thanks Deb! A friend of mine knew a lady who hit a deer at night, the deer went through the windshield and it's thrashing about knocked this lady causing her car to roll out of control and she was killed. And NO we don't have many other vehicles to drive as was stated in another post!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 04:02 pm:

Janie, can't you use the tractor to go shopping? or maybe a horse drawn carriage? My mother in law hit a deer with her new Chrysler, destroyed the car. So in two weeks driving another new Chrysler she hit another one. Insurance went up.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 04:13 pm:

Mikie, I think I will pass on those options. I will wait til Bob gets home and he can chauffeur me around like the Rich and the Famous do! :)

By Waveaction (Lakelover) on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 - 04:45 pm:

Is there anyone out there can help us? Please?
