The Copper Country Mall parking lot was hopping with kids of all ages this past weekend, there to check out Big Truck Day and the various vehicles parked there for touring. Kathy Archambeau, newcomer to the Pasty Cam, and her grandkids attended the event, paying the admission fee of $5 per child, with accompanying adults admitted free. All proceeds went to the Dial Help Community Support and Outreach Center. Kathy reports that they had a fun time, sitting in the police car, fire trucks and even getting right inside an ambulance to see what it's like to lay on the gurney they use to transport injured or sick patients.

Sure is a fun way to raise money for a worthy cause and at the same time, let the kids experience in an up close and personal way, these big vehicles they see going by every day. I can just imagine how excited they must have been.

Sounds like a great organization to support and great fun for the kiddies. Also might help the wee ones feel less afraid if they ever have to ride in an ambulance.

What a great program, especially exposing young children, up close and personal, to various emergency vehicles and emergency personnel, so they would not be afraid if they encountered them "in the wild", so to speak!

Hope these kids never have to be transported in an ambulance ~ but if they do, I'd say they're prepared.:)

Having fun learning about maybe a career in the future.

The boy is doing a pretty good acting job in that ambulance...maybe an acting career?

Last Oct. Michelle and I followed Bob being transported to Mercy Hosp. by ambulance. Thought a heart attack was happening, however it was a pulmonary embolism and pneumonia which has symptoms that mimicking heart attack symptoms. Thanking the Good Lord he has his health!

My husband collapsed in our backyard with a heart attack in 2006 ~ so thankful that our Bethel fire dept/ambulance was just 15 minutes away. The EMTs allowed me to ride with them to the hospital. Thankfully, he survived that incident with by-pass surgery and we had him with us for another 5 years.
Firemen/EMTs are to be praised for the fine services they perform!

Thought we were going to have to have an ambulance come for our fridge, but the repairman fixed it!

What a fantastic event! Sometimes I wonder who has the most fun the kids or adults? Thanks to all who serve!
