If a picture is worth a thousand words, I'm guessing that the smile from today's little cutie, must be all you need, to know how much she appreciates her Grandpa Jim's hard work restoring her ride.

Featured in today's photos from Mickey Hodges is a 1973 Cat Cutter that her hubby, Jim restored to almost brand new condition. Mickey said the sled was given to them by her brother, who had gotten it in a deal when he bought some old snowmobiles. Jim then began the restoration process, taking it apart, removing rust, repairing fiberglass on the inside, sanding and painting it. The seat is original, but he replaced the windshield and decals to bring it back to it's 70's look. Great job, Grandpa Jim!

What a neat nostalgic piece to have, but did you notice the snowmobile that Mickey's son, Tom is using to pull his beautiful niece around with? That's a vintage 1973 Arctic Cat El Tigre, a perfect match for the Cat Cutter. Together they make quite a retro statement.

This is the perfect spot to remind everyone that The 8th Annual Antique Snowmobile Run for Fun in Copper Harbor is taking place from now, until Sunday, Feb. 17th. The event includes a bonfire and social, antique sled rides, a mid-afternoon cookout, live music, the Iron Man Run, a Sunday morning ride to the top of Brockway Mountain and more. All proceeds will go to benefit the "No Kids Without A Christmas" fund. Looks like a great way to spend the weekend!

Good morning boys and girls! Great shots of winter fun this morning :o)

Edie and I left Florida yesterday, where we had a Pastyfest feast with a couple hundred Michigan Yoopers at The Villages on Wednesday night. We are actually in Macon, Georgia this morning, headed on up the East Coast for a big circle on the way back to the U.P.

I know the fun she's having riding in the cutter. We have an old Johnson cutter sleigh. Good times!

That looks like so much fun for the little girl! I know I would have loved it when I was that age! Congrats on a job well done, Grandpa Jim!

Is that a deflector on the rear of the snowmobile...to keep the snow from the tracks from 'spraying' the Cat Cutter? That is certainly a neat rig! Lucky little girl!:)

The pics today are soooo cute and very interesting also. I had forgotten what the older snowmobiles looked like. What a cute little gal in the sled!

Looks like an exciting ride by the way she is hoding on the rail.

Shirley, that is indeed a flap to control snow flying about. Just like a mud flap on a vehicle.

Looks fun to me.
