So how many of you have ever had a lemonade stand as a kid? I know I did and my Dad usually bought the majority of the drinks, but I don't think I ever had such a fancy sales booth as these three entrepreneurs. Laura Gauthier snapped these photos of her young lemonade sellers and their nifty storefront in the Negaunee area. What a great use of their imagination with the cutouts, signs and even a tip can hanging to the right of the window. These three have some good manners, too... you can't see it in the top photo, since there's a toy car in the way, but it's out in plain sight on the second shot... a great big "Thanks" on the counter. Sure looks like the kids had a blast... hope they made a few dollars, too.

That is adorable. We used to do that quite often. Thankfully, the neighbors on our hill were generous, lol!

Good Morning. That's really cute. And they are so lucky they live in the UP, and not in so many other areas, where local laws are sending police out to shut down kids' lemonade stands, like this one, because they didn't pay for a $200 or $300 vendor permit, and all of the other gobbledegoo! It is criminal what some localities, especially in more urban areas are doing to kids, in this All-American kids activity, which really can be an educational experience for the kids. They should not have the police showing up to shut them down! (ie New York, and other states have been in the news in the last year for such travesties)

Great shots! What fun! I love the imagination Laura's kids showed.

This is what happens when you give kids a big cardboard box. They'll remember it better than all the electronic toys in the world.

Great memories being made there and, oh, the memory of it being shown on the INTERNET!! Wow! :-)

Dunerat, you are so right about the cardboard boxes, My kids just loved when we bought some that came in a large box. They had a blast. MarianneY I agree with you. It is plain ridiculous about going after the kids with their lemonade stands. They have done that here and boy the Police Dept got a lot of flack.
