The White House in Mohawk reopened last evening for business. Welcome back Jim and Crew! The kitchen will be up and cooking soon.

Hey, all those wusses (snowbirds) were at our Fish Dinner the other night at the church. Guess what? We accepted all their revenue and company. We found these folks to be exceptionally nice.

Good morning everyone...time to rise and shine and greet the day :)

LES was in the forcast for last night...but woke up to bare ground this morning. I was hoping for one last snow fall before spring.

Neat pic of the hang glider...I love watching them jump off the dunes here and then swoop over Lake Michigan. Perhaps some day I'll get the gutts to try it too? Hmmm...

So glad to hear the White House is back. Congrats Jim!!!!

So, does anyone have any recommendations {and why} about a place to stay around Lake Fanny Hooe? Looking for a motel/cottage which can be rented by the day in May. Thanks!

Like someone said before: "Where can I purchase one of those "SNOWTRAPS?"

Mary Drew--

I've enjoyed all of your missives from the
South.

Did you see any pelicans? They were one of
my favorite features of our yearly week long
stays in the Outer Banks of North Carolina
when our kids were younger. It was
marvelous to watch them drill into the surf
while sitting on the beach watching the sun
rise.

As a matter of fact kosk, we saw plenty of pelicans, which are one of my favorites also and I was able to get some photos. The camera is packed away though until we arrive home tomorrow sometime, so I'm unable to post one here for you right now. I'll try to remember once I get home! :->

Is this close enough for you: Click ®
Lake Fanny Hooe Resort
Or check out the other options here: Click ® Copper Harbor Lodging

Anyone else care to provide the "why"?

Way to go Jim wish you all the luck with the new
White House can't wait to come and see the new place

By danbury on Monday, March 14, 2005 - 02:50 am:

Well, sur5er, you know what it is like with them things - first attempt failed, no second try ...
Admit I'm sometimes a little slow in the uptake. Would have helped, I guess, if I'd know what DNR officers are?

By Susan, Fl on Monday, March 14, 2005 - 04:35 am:

danbury....department of natural resources :)

By JBM of CenterLine on Monday, March 14, 2005 - 08:41 am:

Why. Brockway Mt Drive to the top at night just to see the Stars. Or sun set or sun rise. Also kayaking on the big lake. Or just rock hunting along the quite shore. To name just a few.

By julie b., MI on Monday, March 14, 2005 - 11:30 am:

Thanks FRNash! Appreciate the links!

Had found those places and wondered if there was anything to recommend one over the other. Every place looks so good!

By sur5er on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 - 01:45 am:

Danbury,

And knowing my luck, it would be that first try that would fail. What is that saying...'everything that goes up, must come down...how it comes down is irrelevant to proving the theory of gravity?" :)

By sur5er on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 - 01:47 am:

And yes Susan you answered our first question in the daily round correctly. Are you ready for the bonus round? :)
