Has anyone heard from Erica? (Or is it Erika?) She was leaving the Keys to safer ground before Wilma hit. Been wondering if she made it through OK. Our house seems to be OK, (and since we aren't going back to FL til after the New Year ... It better stay that way!) now that the power is back on. I must have missed her post (if she sent one.) Hope all is well with her, her family and her home.

Cindy,we arrived home today---we stayed in Ocala during the storm. We lost power (and our refrigerator died --it was surged to death and I guess the compressor just couldn't take it. Getting home was tricky because Miami/Dade and Broward and Palm Beach counties took quite a hit. We had to wait to drive back until we were sure we could get enough gas to complete the trip home. We were pulling a trailer, which we consider very important to have in the event we lose our home or it is damaged badly--it means we have a place to live in case it is needed. Plenty of landscape damage, downed wires, roof damage from here to near Ocala. I hope your home is in good shape. A few of our neighbors seem a little unhappy and are planning on moving. I love it here and I will stay as long as I can. Thank you for the well wishes and I hope everything is just as you want it to be when you get home.
