Good Morn all, I just looked at the "sunning in the sand" and saw that Miriam and Betty graduated from RO Dondero High in 1957, Hubby did too and I did in 1963, Its such a SMALL WORLD!!!

By sur5er on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 09:09 am:

Good morning all :) Well today isn't starting out too bad...it's a wonderful 65 degrees outside right now...just wish it could stay at that temp for a few more hours though.
Margaret, I hope everything is going well for you. You're in my thoughts and prayers. ;)

sur5er--I agree. I'll take 65 for a high today just to get this hot, humid weather out of here! Looks like yesterday was our only reprieve from it. Its got me wishing I was in the UP instead of SW MI!

Sauna is a poorman's drug store my uncle use to say. It's hard to belive all you missed placed Yoosta Be Yoopers can't take the heat and humidity unless you never spent any time in the sauna!Put some sunscreen on, take your cloth's off,use good judgement on that, get out and bake, soap up,hose off,and your good to go.

I too am a Dondero grad from 1972. Did you ever have Mrs. Miller for English? She was from Minnesotda and a full blooded Finn. She favored us fellow Finns. She had a face of a bull dog but boy, you sure learned in her class (or else!)

By Ellen,Sunrise Side,Mi on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 01:11 pm:

SDC... No I didn't have Mrs. Miller but I do remember having Miss Miller for homeroom. I hear they are closing Dondero and the kids are going to Kimble, Arch rivals in my day!!

I am actually looking forward to the humidity!! It has been over 100 degrees every day for a month here in the stinking desert, with single digit humidity, you can feel that scorching sun damaging you! You'd die out there without shelter and water to drink! only 20 more days before our cross country trip to the UP begins! YIPPEE!!

I had Miss Miller too. Always had a smile on her face.

Yes, they are closing Dondero and moving those kids over to Kimball, also our arch rival in my day as well. We use to steal that stupid rock they guarded and moved it in front of Dondero. Boy, were they mad. Not sure what they're going to do with Dondero. I sure hope they don't tear it down to build condos! That seems to be the norm in Royal Oak and Ferndale.

I heard they're renaming Kimball to Royal Oak High School.

Thanks Charlie, for the speedy reaction to that spam attack.
It will be only a minor nuisance compared to the nuisance of such spam attacks!
Maybe it was about time to require registration anyway.
That should help keep postings a bit more civil here and reduce the need for tedious "cleanup" chores for our administrator & editors as well!

Ellen, I tried to answer you on Thursday, but that is when the 'system' wasn't working. It sure is a 'small world'. Was your husband a Jan. or June grad? Ellen, you said you are from 'sunrise side' does it happen to be near Oscoda?
SDC - You bring back so many memories talking about Mrs. Miller. How can we forget her?
