Good morning from high atop the VEC tower in Warren. Back to work after 2 week vacation in the Copper Country. Work stinks!

Good morning. It's a beautiful 64 degrees right now...and for once, my air conditioner isn't humming. Everyone have a great day...and stay cool.

By Sigh..... on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - 07:50 am:

Chuck, I know the feeling. I am coming off a three week vacation and right about now, not thinking too kindly about sitting at my desk. Thank goodness this website takes the edge off.
Don't get me wrong, I love my job but there is definitely something about vacation...........

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - 08:13 am:

Mornin' sounds like a fun day for everyone--if they could stay on vacation.

By Dave, Cairo on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - 08:27 am:

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm returning from Cairo tomorrow after an eight week visit. Not even going to stop by the office, just home and then to the UP for vacation. :-)

Hey, all you folks lamenting the end of vacation--I had that experience after my week off in early July. Guess I'm a natural born bum. ...I suppose eventually I'd get bored with swimming, beach walks, watching ore boats, walking in the woods, picking blueberries & beach peas, kayaking...

By Your Neighbor, Warren MI on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - 01:59 pm:

Chuck,

Where are ya in the VEC? I'm located on the west side of campus in Engineering Central.

I posted a message late last night, about Buck LeVasseur and his show on TV6, Discovering, along with a picture of Buck behind the camera. So for those of you who missed it and are interested, click here: Discovering with Buck!

Looks like I received some attention today.

Must say Hi to Maija and yes it was beautiful up there. Found out on my vacation that Maija is related to my wife.

Dave H, good to here from you. It has only been about 35 years since we spoke. I believe there are a lot of things we did back in the 60s that we should not write about.

I also found out who PJ in Milford is at the Dollar Bay street dance. Baffles me how some people do not change over so many years. PJ you look Great!

To my neighbor here at the GM Warren Tech Center. I am on the 8th floor....Penthouse.

I used to think that retirement should come before work........thinking that older folks would be bored and want to work while younger folks had so much energy for travel and adventure.......WRONG!!...now I am old and not bored and love adventure....would hate to work...I don't know what the answer is but I think in Europe "holidays" (vacations) are a lot longer...like 6 weeks..... Danbury in Germany......How long is your holiday???........

By Carole on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 - 08:58 pm:

Does anyone know how Bill P. from California is doing?

Thank you Mr. Moon. What a beautiful sight to
wake up to on today, my daughter's birthday.

By bj-milford on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 08:25 am:

Didn't see a lot of people I knew at the $Bay street dance but saw a few I hadn't seen in a long time. Thanks Chuck - it was good to see you and "little" brother, too.
"Two weeks" of vacation sounds great when you're starting out but not long enough when you are getting ready to leave.
Enjoyed bike riding around the Points - but The Hill still scares me....I'm too old to fall. How many people fell on that one and lived to tell about it?

By Chuck in Clarkston on Wednesday, July 20, 2005 - 09:05 am:

Sorry bj I wrote pj......looks like more things are going bad besides my waist line.

By BJmilford (Bjmilford) on Thursday, July 21, 2005 - 09:46 am:
