By the way, I uploaded this morning's Pasty Cam from Negaunee, and have to rely on the webcams to see conditions back in the Copper Country. Looks a little overcast in Calumet and over on the Bridge Cam

Fifth Street

Good mornig from Kerava, Finland! It's 3:14 p.m. and cloudy. Usually I'm looking at the pasty cam from Green Bay, but for three weeks I'm visiting our son's family in Finland. Getting my grandma fix with the 3 kids. Glad to be able to still see whats going on in the U.P.

Good morning from Mishawaka IN. Beautiful and sunny (a little hazy) morning. Suppose to get up to 90° today with a chance of rain. We need the rain. Glad to hear everything turned out alright for Sharon and she is home in the UP. Have a good day everyone.

By sur5er on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 09:30 am:

NKR, Be prepared for severe thunderstorms that we will be sending you from Lake Michigan, later in the day. It's beautiful out right now..but in the afternoon, the skies are supposed to let loose...any time after I take the chicken off the grill will work fine with me ;)

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 09:49 am:

Sur5er: Those came from out my way in the last few days. Nice today and already 58°

By Dave & JoAnne Stefanac, Port Orchard, WA on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 11:12 am:

So what happened last night? Did the bad weather hit??? I'm dyin' to know! One year, Dave and I were camped at the Lake Linden campground and two nights in a row, wicked thunderstorms and bad winds came blowing through there in the middle of the night. One guy lost his RV awning and a tree was cracked right in half on the property there. It was freightening, especially when you're in an RV and don't have access to internet and such to keep abreast on these things! I remember the police came driving through shortly after those storms to make sure everyone was OK.

Hope all are OK today!

By Cindy--Cent. Heights on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 11:24 am:

No bad weather last night here. The conditions were right for a storm but just a little rain. The barametric pressure was weird. Couldn't light my grill for nothing. Today the skies are still threatening. But I think it will blow over.

By sblazek Oconomowoc,WI on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 12:12 pm:

It sure stormed here last night. Just so it holds off for
the Oconomowoc HS graduation this afternoon. Last of
4 sons graduating.
Then more time in the UP nursing my empty nest . What
a great place to do that. Hope your chicken gets done-
yum.

Good moist morning frow NW Il. Just hoping against hope to get a peek of Sharon enjoying the view from deck steps. So glad all turned out well. Prayers are answered. Feel the spirits of all of us who care, there next to you. Happy Sunday everyone.

By sblazek Oconomowoc,WI on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 01:50 pm:

Hey, When did the Copper Harbor cam come on?
What a great surprise.

Ok, I'm leaving for the graduation. Like stalling will stop
the future.

Have a great Sunday everyone out there.

By CDS from WI on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 02:09 pm:

Good News!!

Sharon should be in Copper Harbor!!!

Next good thing the copperharbor.org cam is back up!!

By Mr. Bill on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 03:14 pm:

The rain must have got to the CMX camera last night.

By Ron WA on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 03:15 pm:

My wife and I play a little game with your pasty counter, trying to guess when it may reach a certain number. How about a little contest(well within the law of course) as to when it may go over say 300,000 pasties. Just a thought. We enjoy your sites every day, wish we had some kind of a similar program for this area(Vancouver WA).

Thanks for all the great photos.

By NKR Mishawaka IN on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 04:08 pm:

Hey sur5er. Hows the chicken doin? Is it done yet? I could hop on the tollroad and be there in no time. Looks like its getting cloudy in the west. I guess the rain is on its way.

By Cindy on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 04:37 pm:

Guess the forecast was wrong again!!! It's 81 in Calumet. Time to go to the beach. Wind is coming from the south so the north shore should be warm. Hey gmw, what did you think of the race today? Hubby's alittle upset with Tony Stweart for making Gordon crash. But you hearded what Gordon said!!!!!!!

By ert, GA on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 06:28 pm:

We just missed a boat on BridgeCam; you can see the wake.

By gmw on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 07:38 pm:

Saw some of the race, Cindy. If I know Gordon, he'll get back at Tony Stewart. Didn't watch the entire race steady but was tuning in now and then. Was working outside scraping paint off house and helping hubby tear off old railing off of deck. I don't think much of Tony Stewart.

By sur5er on Sunday, June 5, 2005 - 08:26 pm:

Oooooooolala, ya'll missed some delicious chicken...everyone claimed it was some of the best chicken they had ever had. I soaked the whole chickens in a salt water bath over night. Then this morning, I injected each chicken with a 1/2 cup of butter, and a 1/2 cup garlic flavored marinade. Then I put the chickens on beer cans and put them in the smoker for about four hours.

NKR, hopefully the storm by passes you, as it did us. It got really cloudy and dark about 2pm...and then cleared up just as fast as it had clouded over...hopefully that southern wind pushed it out to the lake, eh. Anywho, got your chicken waiting for you...and strawberry daiquiris. ;)

WELCOME HOME, SHARON SMITH! Hope Buster catches any mice you didn't throw over the deck rail. Best wishes for a wonderful summer here in the UP from your UP transplant friend from Royal Oak, now a permanent resident of Cedar Bay (note new spelling per Keweenaw County officials). I look forward to having you over for dinner once you get settled.
