Good morning,

I'm in day two of my fight with city hall here, about hubby parking his semi tractor on weekends. OMG, we never had this problem in Michigan.

As hubby peeled the florescent tag off his semi tractor window last night, I dared to say, "I betcha Michigan is looking real good bout now, eh."

As hubby chizzeled away at the tag with a razor blade I heard him remark, " grumble, grumble...Indiana...grumble, grumble, grumble...Indiana..grumble, grumble."

And then he used one of those false female voices to imitate my voice (I dunno why men do this when they are mad at their wives), "Sure honey, we can move to Indiana for a few years for your job...Indiana, Michigan..what's the difference.."

As he drove out of sight, I heard him singing, "Indiana wants me, Lord I can't go back there..." :)

Sur5er,

As a lifelong glue chemist that alway had access to the right lab chemicals to take off glues, consider this as an "in-home" remedy that everyone has .... WD-40

Spray the label excessively on the face (printed) side, and let it soak 10-15 minutes before slowly prying up an edge. Works great for cheap-o rubber based pressure sensitive price marking labels, but not for acrylic, sun resistant adhesives, such as on windshield decals.

Thanks Mr. Bill :)

The ordinance officer put the large sticker on hubby's window in the morning...and by the time hubby found it, it was baked on there.

Incidently, a nice officer will not put a sticker completely on your window...I think this officer used a steam roller, when they applied this puppy.

Since we are taking on city hall, I will have to keep hubby supplied in WD-40 ;) I'll let you know how it works this weekend.

Probably a bit late for anyone to see this but I thought you might be interested in the POTD on Steve's Digicam. A great shot of the UP. Great depth.

s;'lrebtmip'dosrkb,

Nope, according to the city attorney, they rezoned the parking for semi tractors...and the only change they made was to exclude the parking lot of the store my husband's company delivers for and where my hubby parked his semi tractor.

I don't know if the city attorney and the owner of the store have a feud going on, or what.

However, the next parking lot over is still allowed to be used for tractor parking...but since it is a private parking lot, parking is only for company trucks for that store...so hubby can't park his semi tractor there. In essence, he has been zoned out being allowed to park his tractor in the same city where we live and where he delivers...the city even zoned out where we live, so he can't even park it in the driveway.

Sigh...did I say that I hate Indiana and wanna move back home to Michigan, lately?

On a brighter note, while I went into Michigan to fuel up my truck today, I did take time to take a walk on the shores of Lake Michigan...in my barefeet. But burrrr, was that water cold...hard to imagine that we will be swimming and jet skiing in it, in a couple of months.

Yooper,

ROFL about the woodpecker animation. Now if I had to describe my day today, that animation would fit it to a tee...only it would be my head banging up against that tree. Sigh.

Looks like the work of a pleated woodpecker
