Morning! Eating pumpkin bread and reading Pastycam, a fine way to ease into my Sunday morning!

Are you kiddin'? That's all they had for lighting the way back then? In one review it appears that the little 'raker' prefers the yard next door?;) Love the green water near the end....almost looks like a black & white photo with color added after the fact. Thanks, Charlie!

That's all the miners had for light, Shirley..... until an air blast blew their candle out!!

2004, 2006 and 2008 are all favorites but 2006 IS the best.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, November 6, 2011 - 05:48 pm:

Well, I'm sure you're right, Capt., but that certainly had to be one of the hardest jobs for men during that time period. I suppose one could say that the candle could also be looked at as a safety device.....would let you know when your oxygen was getting dangerously low. Yep...those were MEN!

I know it's a little late, just that I was at the hospital all day and that our Uncle Shadow, (A.K.A. Edward kowalski)passed on at 1:20 this afternoon. His brother and brother-in-law ran the Phillip's ville station and the Citi gas station in Ahmeek a few year's back. He was a W.W.II veteran, serving in the Navy. Loved by all will be missed by many.

P.S. It was 51 year's ago that his Mother, My Grand mother passed into God's arms.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Monday, November 7, 2011 - 08:38 am:

Dean, so very sorry for your family's loss! May our Lord comfort you!
