Good morning from Wells
First Post

By Tom (Tom) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 09:22 am:

Good morning! Football today. We get to see how the NFL Central does. Could be a tough division again. Detroit, Chicago and Green Bay. Minn not looking so good early.
Nice time of year!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 09:41 am:

Good Morning! I know my hubby, Bob, enjoys checking out Pastycam, like I do, so with that said, Happy Anniversary Bob, 35 years of Joy and Happiness!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 09:51 am:

Some great pictures again today. Brenda's jam makings makes me hungry!!!

Is the Paradise Garden's on the road to McLain Park? I've been trying to think of the name of that place for ages, and then you have a picture of that and it kind of jogged my memory, but I'm still not sure. And could somebody tell me where Cable Lake is?

Happy Anniversary Janie and Bob!! I hope you have a wonderful day. It's raining here so I guess I'll do my indoor decorating.

Have a great day, everybody!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 09:53 am:

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to Fran from Georgia!! I hope you have a great day.

By Tom (Tom) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 10:06 am:

Paradise Gardens was located at Highway Location on US41 between Hancock and Calumet. No longer exists.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 10:16 am:

Was it the one that led to the golf course??

By Debi Steinle (Debi) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 11:33 am:

Usedtobeayooper: Paradise Gardens was just off US-41 (just about where the 4-lane starts, or ends, depending on your direction of travel) on Paradise Road, I believe. If you were heading to Calumet from Hancock you would turn right and just down the road to the right was Paradise Gardens.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 11:46 am:

Okay, thanks Debi. I think my folks used to go there for dinner once in a while. We pass that sometimes when we turn down to go to Hubbell from US 41. Does anybody remember the name of the restaurant/bar that was on the corner as you turn to go to McLain Park?

Happy Birthday to Fran from Georgia and Dollar Bay!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 01:15 pm:

If it's the Cable Lake I'm thinking of, it's about 6 miles west of US-141 between Covington and Amasa.

We finally got some rain yesterday. Not near enough to even make a ding in the drought, but every little bit helps. I swear as it was raining I could hear a definitive sucking sound outside.....

By FRNash/PHX, AZ (Frnash) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 01:52 pm:

Paradise Gardens was east of US-41 on Oneco Road (just north of the Houghton County Airport boundary), click → Cam Notes for November 7, 2010.

Rendezvous Supper Club coming from Calumet heading out on M-203 toward McLain State Park comes to mind. Is that the one you were thinking about, Deb?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 04:40 pm:

Yes, Grace. Thank you. I just finished reading my e-mails, and a pasty follower without a password e-mailed me with the answer. This is such a great site :)

By Grace M Wetton (Gmw) on Sunday, September 18, 2011 - 04:47 pm:

It is a great site. Deb! If one dosen't know the answer to something, someone out there in Pastyland does have the answer. Therefore, this site is very helpful with just about anything.

So proud of the Lions. They had KFC for lunch today. Kansas Fried Chiefs. Best game I ever saw.
Leaves are really turning after the frost we had during the last two days. Get UP here and see nature painting at her best.
Raining today, much needed. Can't smell the Minnesota fire anymore, hope it is out.
