Good morning!! So many different kinds of beauty is depicted in these pictures this morning. Loved them all!!

Was supposed to head out for the UP this morning, but my poor little darling granddaughter has been running a fever since Saturday and it spiked to 105 last night. Something is definitely wrong!! Can't decide if I should leave her or not. Sigh...........

Have a great day!!

FRNash....are you in plenty distance away from the big fires?

Thanks for the picture of Lake Medora!

I talked to my parents a couple days ago in central New Mexico and they said the smoke was pretty thick in the Rio Grande Valley from the Arizona fires. I didn't realise until this morning that one of the larger fires was near Springerville and Eagar in the far eastern mountains.

"FRNash....are you in plenty distance away from the big fires?"

Yep, I sure am.

The nearest portion of the Wallow fire is roughly 150 miles due east of here. From its origin near Hanagan Meadow in Greenlee County and mainly along US-191 north into Apache County, to Alpine, and Nutrioso, now threatening the Springerville/Eagar area near SR260 & US-60, and even on eastward toward New Mexico. So far the fire has covered well over 600 square miles, still with zero containment. This is clearly going to be a record fire for Arizona!

Meanwhile, there's also the Horseshoe Two fire, down in the southeast corner of the state in Cochise County, near the idyllic little town of Portal, and threatening Chiricahua National Monument, now at 165 square miles and 50% contained.

It looks like it's going to be a rough fire season for Arizona this year!

It's good that you're okay FRNash, the gods are angry this year.
Life is good in Ontonagon. The big lake has been good to us during this heat wave. Highest temps today were 75 and the sun was shining. A good yooper friend brought us 2 lbs. of fresh-caught walleye filets today. Getting the beer batter ready. What more could you ask for?
