Must be a slow connection this morning. It's taking a long time to get my messages to post. Was on yesterday's page talking to UC, and that took forever. I thought maybe it was because today's page was loading at the same time, but then I had trouble here too. Must be water on our line here again, lol.

Have a great day, everybody!!

Hmm...well..there's really not 6 villages/towns on the list.

Houghton COUNTY isn't a village or town, and neither is C-L-K...that's the name of the school in Calumet....So...none of us are correct!

The sun is shining in Baraga, and I wish we could take some of the rain from you soaked folks. We have lots of new shoreline...and could surely use some precip. It did get to freezing last night (and the night before and perhaps tonight as well), and I have my huge (4 big pots and 2 little ones) garden out back (lol) that I covered and was looking out at it this morning, and watched a red squirrel climbing up and down on one of the blankets out there, and it stopped and chewed on it a bit! Getting hammered with hummingbirds too...they are so darling.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 08:09 am:

Good Morning. I agree, Donna, it is Houghton County. Also, I thought it was the city of Houghton, not town or village. That being said, maybe one could use the town of St Ignace, since it is the northern boundary of the Big Mac Bridge shown, as a different take on the answer to Charlie's question. That would give us the following list: Ispheming, Lake Linden, Munising, Escanaba, Christmas, and St Ignace. Have a good day, everyone.

Picky, picky, picky............

By Donna (Donna) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 08:52 am:

Ah, but St. Ignace isn't mentioned either. Brockway could be Copper Harbor. Lake Medora could be Medora...there isn't really 6.

And yes FJL...just keepin' the noggin in working order!!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 09:35 am:

Donna...I just noticed that your getting hammered with the hummingbirds and I was wondering what your all drinking. :)

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 10:03 am:

...and please don't let them drink and fly. (I'll shut up now)

Tack is the ability to close our mouth before someone else wants to. But the bird hunting season is open and is a good sport..

On another note: Misty Bond is an excellent photog whom I miss, among other great photogs who have enriched our lives on this site. Her pic shown today is just so beautiful.

Sugar water Alex...sugar water...the original "gateway drug"!!

On another note...I was down at the local garage getting my buggy fixed, and some fellas walked in and complained about the cold weather. I said "Yeah...and 4 months ago..this would have been a heat wave"...LOL..what responses that got! One guy said "OH YEAH...and I'd have gone without my jacket"...

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 08:07 pm:

Tack? Do you mean tact? :o)

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Thursday, May 26, 2011 - 08:09 pm:

Ken..I know you think you understand what you thought we said, but we're not sure you are aware that what you read is not what we meant. Seriously, got to watch our spelling, thanks.
