This is one of my favorite sports, track and field and thanks to Jodi Corrigan, we get to peek in on a couple of the events that took place at a recent competition in Baraga. Running hurdles for the Lakes, in the first photo, is Christopher Sarazin. Check out that picture perfect hurdling form, as he glides smoothly over the top. Jodi captured this shot at just the right moment to show that form and also to give us a glimpse of the foot print on the bottom of his shoe... funny! The next three photos are of Jodi's daughter, Brooke, as she stretches out to get footage in the long jump. Then getting herself psyched up for her run at the pole vault, with the last photo capturing her as she gets up and over the bar, for a successful vault. Go Lakes!!

Good to see our young people involved in extracurricular activities like this... makes for some well-rounded young adults.

Good Morning! We have a rainy day here in mid-Michigan. I hope you are getting just the amount of rain you need - no more & no less. Oops, this ended up on the wrong page this morning. Sorry, Charlie. It tied with Steve, had it been on the What's Up page.

Ahhh, the memories of track season! I loved it! I ran the 100yd. dash, my average time 12.9 seconds. Oh,to be able to do that again!

Rainy and 59 in Lansing. Feels much cooler than 59 to me. Halfway through May already. Time flies when you're having fun, or is it fun flies when you're doing time???? Either way, have a GREAT day and don't forget to wish the Capt and Dr Nat a Happy Anniversary. They made it to double digits.

By Eddyfitz (Eddyfitz) on Saturday, May 14, 2011 - 08:28 am:

thanks for the memories.....I competed in track and field while at LL-H high way back in the 50's. It was great to compete in Houghton, Hancock, Marquette and Escanaba. I would never have travelled that far on our family income while dad was employed at C & H as we had no car till my jounior year. (I still tell my grandkids it is hard to sleep yet with my medals pinned to my pj's.)

These are a few of the activities I do every morning before breakfast...yeah, right :)

Happy Anniversary, Capt and Dr Nat!

Bought tickets for tommorrow's Tiger's , Royals game. Taking two of the Grand children. So far it look's like a rain out. I know ome place we will not go is Eastern Market (Flower Day). The wife and I go at least 2 or 3 times a month to the market. But it is so jamed with people during the flower day week-end you just can't see everything. I worked on the market back in the 60's, I drove truck delivering beef, the market has changed a lot (for the good) since then. I still enjoy going to Vivio's for a liquid breakfast, their awsome "Spicy Bloodymary".

I only liked the long jump in track. Could be because it was the only thing I was good at, lol! Glad these kids are enjoying it though. It's so good for them.

Have a great day, everybody!

Eddyfitz I giggle at the image of you sleeping with those medals pinned to your pjs. Kinda lumpy isn't it? And HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Dr. and Cap't! Many more good ones. The big thing in a successful marriage is a friendship between you. And I feel you folks have it. God bless.

Dean...my father was a meat cutter at a butcher shop in Eastern Market. I think it was called Mr. Food or Mr. Beef...sound familiar?
