Another month has come and gone here at Pasty Central and we continue our end of the month tradition of remembering those friends and family that have passed on before us. Today we hold the following folks in our thoughts:

Elizabeth "Beth" Beauchene
LeRoy Kivela
Bob W. Loukus, Sr.
Richard "Dick" Rowe
Fr. Don Shiroda
James Slusarzyk
Servicemen and women who've given their all

Please feel free to honor your loved ones, by adding their names here below. A special note about today's sunset photo, by Paul Roberts. The photo was actually taken a few years back and we've actually used it for a "month end" memorial photo before, but seeing as it was taken on Bob Loukus' farm and he's one of the folks we're remembering today, we thought it would be more than fitting to run this photo once more.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

I find the poem by Author Unknown to be very comforting, and oh so true. Thank you for that, Mary! :)

It was about this time last year that we found out our unborn daughter would most likely not survive. Love and miss you, Katie-bug.

Thank you Mary for sharing the poem with us. It touched me as my husband and I prepare to remember our son, Andy, who passed away 11 years ago April 2.

What a beautiful picture from the Loukus farm! I remember visiting this wonderful family as a child when I lived in Calumet. They were such kind and wonderful, loving people. I will never forget this fine family! Thanks for sharing this great photo with us today. I remember my parents Toivo & Adeline Leinonen who have passed on now 23 yrs ago for my Dad and 13 yrs ago for my Mom. Also, my younger sister Lillian passed away from cancer 3 years ago this January. I still miss them all and think of them everyday. I love the poem too by the Author Unknown, that is so true!

Fr. Don Shiroda was very good friends with both of my parents. He officiated at both of their funerals and was the priest who married my husband and I at St. Joseph Church here in the Soo. He was loved by many people in the U.P. and was buried in Houghton. He will be missed. God Bless his soul.
