I have been told that Henry Ford had one or more mills in the U.P., if so does anyone have pictures of the mill(s) and the workers.?.

also, try Baraga County Historical Museum.
Ford had mills in L'anse, Pequaming, Alberta (5 mi south of L'anse), Kingsford (from whence formerly came kingsford charcoal) and probably others.

He also harvested slate from the slate river near L'anse, which he used for roofing the rouge plant. The leftover piles are still there for the taking, but you need a very-high-clearance 4 wheel drive and you have to know how to get there.
